TripMagic App Privacy Policy

Overview

This declaration explains how the TripMagic app handles data. It describes the current app baseline and does not describe data handling by this website. TripMagic is made by Objective Pixel.

Data handled by the app

TripMagic stores the trips, activities, places, visits, links, settings, and trip photos that you choose to add. The primary app data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

TripMagic does not include third-party advertising, attribution, or analytics SDKs, and Objective Pixel does not sell your app data.

iCloud sync

When iCloud is available, the primary TripMagic data store syncs through Apple CloudKit in your private iCloud database. CloudKit may use Apple push notifications to perform background synchronization. Apple handles this data under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Location and GPS recording

TripMagic can use foreground location to sort saved places, find nearby places, answer location-aware map requests, and support check-ins.

If you explicitly enable GPS recording and grant the required location access, TripMagic can record location in the background and resume recording across app launches. GPS points are kept in a separate local SQLite database rather than the CloudKit-backed TripMagic data store. You can delete recorded points in the app and export them as GPX. The local GPS database may be included in device backups according to your device and backup settings.

Map search, place details, nearby lookup, and reverse geocoding use Apple MapKit. Apple handles those requests under its privacy terms.

Photos

TripMagic reads a photo only after you select it with Apple's system photo picker. The selected image is downsampled and stored with its trip in the CloudKit-backed data model. TripMagic does not scan your photo library in the current baseline.

AI assistant and providers

You choose which available assistant path to use:

The selected provider receives the prompt, model instructions, tool requests, and tool results used for that turn. Depending on your request, tool results can include saved trip or place information and location information. Provider retention, training, security, and international processing are governed by the provider's current terms and your account configuration.

How data is used

TripMagic uses data to display and organize your travel information, sync it across your devices, provide map and location features, export information that you request, and answer assistant requests through the provider you select.

Sharing and app service providers

TripMagic shares data only as needed for features you choose: with Apple for iCloud, MapKit, on-device model support, and Private Cloud Compute; or with Anthropic or Modular when you select those providers. A location-aware assistant request may include the location result needed to answer it.

TripMagic does not currently claim to provide JSON archive transfer or shared photo-album features. This declaration will be updated if those features ship.

Retention and deletion

App data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, remove the app, or manage its local storage. Synced records can remain in your private iCloud database until you delete them or manage TripMagic's iCloud data through Apple settings. Removing the app does not necessarily delete data already held in iCloud or in device backups.

GPS points remain in the local GPS database until you delete them. Data sent to an assistant provider is retained according to that provider's current terms and your account settings.

Security

TripMagic relies on platform protections supplied by your device, Apple Account, CloudKit, and the selected service providers. Network requests use encrypted connections. No system can guarantee absolute security, so keep your device, Apple Account, and provider API keys protected.

Choices and rights

You can decline photo or location access, leave GPS recording off, choose an assistant provider, avoid sending sensitive material to an assistant, delete app records, delete GPS points, and manage iCloud data in Apple settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights concerning data held by a service provider. Requests about data held by Apple, Anthropic, or Modular should be directed to that provider. You can contact Objective Pixel about the app using the address below.

Children's privacy

TripMagic is a general-audience travel app and is not directed to children under 13. Objective Pixel does not knowingly collect children's app data on its own servers through this app baseline.

International processing

Apple and any assistant provider you select may process data in countries other than your own under their respective terms and safeguards.

Tracking

TripMagic does not link app data with data from other companies' apps or websites for advertising or advertising measurement and does not present the App Tracking Transparency prompt in the current baseline.

This declaration may change as TripMagic changes. The date above will be updated when a revised declaration is published. Before App Store submission, Objective Pixel will compare it with the shipping app's permissions, entitlements, providers, and App Store privacy answers.
